Mercedes-Benz is rather busy these days: testing for new models, the ongoing Geneva show and shooting fresh press material for upcoming additions to its luxury lineup. After the stir created by the impressively styled A-Class, the German constructor continues the storm through April, when three new vehicles playing in the SUV league shall be unleashed: the updated GLK and G-Class and the second generation of the GL-Class. Just recently, a group of spy photographers have been in the right spot, at the right time, to shoot the first images of a fully naked GL 63 AMG series vehicle taking part in a customary pre-launch photo session. In less than 24 hours, the Geneva Motor Show 2012 will open its gate to media representatives and, finally, the new A-Class will be then officially premiered. If you haven't already had enough with the large quantity of scoops up to this moment, please take your time to digest this latest set of spy shots. At the start of sales, programmed for 15th June 2012, the new "Baby Benz" will offer a choice of six different 4-cylinder engines: three BlueEFFICIENCY petrol units (A 160 with 122 hp, A 180 with 156 hp and A 250 with 211 hp) and three BlueEFFICIENCY diesel powerplants (A 180 CDI with 109 hp, A 200 CDI with 136 hp and A 220 CDI with 170 hp). The high-end variants come with the 7G-DCT automatic gearbox as standard, the rest feature a six-speed manual transmission. The new A-Class will become available at authorized dealers beginning with 15th September 2012.
It has already been confirmed that the all new generation A-Class is scheduled for the official debut in March, at the Geneva Motor Show. Right at this time, Mercedes-Benz are busy with doing the neccesary press materials suitable for the launch. One of the favourite locations, frequently used in this situations, is the Lanzarote island, located in the Canary Archipelago near Spain. During a photo shootout, a group of bikers from OGOTT went past the film crew and thanks to the fact one of them had a versatile HD camera mounted on his bicycle that was recording action, he managed to capture the first glimpse of a fully uncovered series A-Class model. Even though no one was expecting, the W 176 visually resembles the Concept A-Class quite a lot. The powerful and stylish front fascia, completed by the LED headlamps, the AMG sports package and the hi-tech radiator grille with perforated effects, will certainly represent the centrepoint of attraction.
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has recently issued an official press statement on the reveal of the new single-seater which the team competes with in the 2012 Formula 1 season. The MP4-27 will be revealed during a launch event taking place at a special location to be announced after we enter the new year. The Britons will test their new F1 car during the first pre-season winter testing session at Jerez (7th to 10th February 2012).
