Thanks to an extensive range of accessories, it is now possible to enhance the individual flair of the new Mercedes-Benz SL that little bit further. All products are manufactured to Mercedes-Benz's usual high quality standards.From all-weather mats to ten-spoke alloy wheels, the Mercedes-Benz original accessories for the new SL offer a multitude of ways for owners to tailor the roadster even more closely to their own needs. The stars of the extensive initial range are eleven stylish alloy wheels – perfect for giving the SL that additional individual touch – and a total of 16 charging cradles and docks for various smartphones. Other upgrade options include the COMAND Online multimedia system, boasting a DVD changer, and the media interface, which can be integrated via cable with a host of mobile end devices.
The high quality is also apparent in the elegant door sill made from brushed stainless steel and featuring illuminated lettering, or the key ring, a replica of the SL symbol on the boot lid.

High-sheen bichromatic wheels and large wheels up to size 53.34 cm (21-inch) continue to enjoy great popularity. Accordingly, Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH is expanding its range of these light-alloy wheels. Just in time for the changeover from winter to summer tyres, the new models are available for numerous model series. In all, the diverse product range from Mercedes-Benz Accessories currently comprises around 170 different wheel designs, including two models for the new Mercedes-Benz SL, that is available at Mercedes-Benz dealerships as of 31 March.High-sheen bichromatic light-alloy wheels derive their additional appeal from the interesting contrast between the apparently bare metal surface and the painted areas. They lend the vehicle a yet more exclusive appearance and are considered by the designers at Mercedes-Benz to be more than just a passing fad. Accordingly, Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH is now extending its range of bichromatic wheels. The popular wheels in single-tone painted finish also remain available.
The trend towards larger wheels fitted flush with the outer body contours is also continuing in all categories of vehicle. This design style signals power, dynamism and driving stability. Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH also has new products to offer in this area – such as the 5-twin-spoke wheel in bichromatic design in size 53.34 cm (21-inch) for the M-Class.

Highest quality standards
The same high safety standards apply to all the light-alloy wheels on offer – there are no differences in quality between the models belonging to the standard and optional equipment and the versions available from Mercedes-Benz Accessories. All wheels are required to meet the same high standards. Neither certification nor registration with the TÜV technical inspection authority are required when fitting the light-alloy wheels from Mercedes-Benz Accessories, as they all form part of the vehicle homologation. The customer always receives a product which is tailored perfectly to Mercedes-Benz vehicles: it supports their exemplary ride comfort and high driving dynamics and fulfils the high requirements of the design idiom, additionally combining high performance with an outstanding service life.
These merits result on the one hand from close collaboration between the vehicle development staff and the wheel development specialists. In order to win their Mercedes stars, wheels additionally have to pass a comprehensive test programme which goes well beyond the statutory licensing requirements for use in road traffic. This includes effective testing procedures geared towards the toughest service conditions encountered in real driving conditions, even extending to tests in cutting-edge x-ray systems and computer tomographs.
Care and handling tips
Even the best development programme, the most innovative production technology and a perfectly coordinated test programme are unable to influence how customers treat their vehicles, including the valuable light-alloy wheels. The manner in which wheels are handled continues to have a major influence on their value retention and the safety of the vehicle. Useful tips:- Clean the winter/summer wheels thoroughly after changing in the spring/autumn, regardless of whether steel or light-alloy wheels are fitted
- Do not use aggressive cleaners. Products recommended by Mercedes-Benz are gentle agents which will clean the wheels effectively
- Do not clean with sharp or rough sponges
- Observe the specified wheel tightening torques. Wheel bolts which are too tight or too loose will damage the wheel in the long term
- Do not oil or grease wheel bolts, as at the specified tightening torque this will result in excessive pre-stressing, which may cause damage to both wheels and bolts
- Use only genuine Mercedes-Benz wheel bolts
- Check the wheels after they have taken heavy knocks, e.g. when driving through deep potholes. If deformation is visible, be sure to have the damage checked at a dealership
- Fit only the size of tyre approved for the wheel
- When carrying high payloads and/or towing a trailer, adjust the tyre pressure accordingly and be sure to observe the permissible wheel loads

Accessories for the cold season: Protection against slush and peace and quiet in the back
Anyone who lives in areas where the snow stays put or who regularly heads for the mountains for winter sports appreciates the perfectly fitting Classic all‑weather mats available from Mercedes-Benz for most model series. They are made of robust, washable plastic designed for heavy-duty use, and with their deep sections and raised edges reliably protect fine foot well carpets. The mats are available in various colours and secured against slipping by the original fastening system.
The same protection, for example against the snow melting off ski boots, is offered by boot tubs made of impact-resistant polypropylene. They are also available for many model series from Mercedes-Benz and feature a honeycomb structure for locating the separately available stowage box. Some of the tubs also enable the practical Velcro-type fastening of the concertina load-sill guard. The guard protects the sill area from scratching during loading – and keeps dirt on the vehicle off one's clothing.
To make sure nothing gets out of place and order prevails in your luggage compartment on the way to your winter holiday destination, Mercedes-Benz offers different storage organising systems. New in the M-Class is a plug-in module with telescopic rod for flexibly dividing the boot to prevent cargo sliding around. Depending on model series and intended as a complement to the shallow boot tub there is the stowage box. It securely holds objects which might otherwise tip over or slide and can be divided into maximum four sections with adjustable partitioning elements.
For the Easy-Pack load-securing kit practical concertina bags are available. The folding, removable bags made of robust, washable nylon provide a secure hold for purchases or winter sports accessories. The bags simply are attached by clips to the side mounting rails of the load-securing system. The concertina bags can also be attached to the plug-in module with an extension.
Entertainment systems: arrive relaxed
A winter holiday trip sometimes can take time, testing the patience of children seated in the rear, which of course puts a strain on the nerves of parents. For aftermarket installation Mercedes-Benz offers various entertainment systems that will help make the time fly.
The very latest in mobile entertainment is the iPad Rear Seat Integration Plus: passengers in the back can very easily use the Apple iPad® as an entertainment centre in a great many models; internet access also is possible in vehicles with an InCar Hotspot. Watch films, while away the time with games or surf in the World Wide Web: a crash-proof mount for the Apple iPad 1® or the Apple iPad 2®, fitted behind the front head restraints, makes this possible. The iPad Rear Seat Integration Plus can be tilted and turned 90 degrees to each side. This comfortable docking station brings the Apple iPad® with all its usual functions into any Mercedes-Benz in an ergonomic way. All connections are accessible. Moreover, thanks to the connection to the on-board power supply the battery can be charged using the separate Apple data cable via integrated USB interface.
The alternative is the Rear Seat Entertainment System. The elegant DVD system puts DVD videos, your favourite pictures and video games on two brilliant 17.8 cm colour monitors without distracting the driver or restricting the view to the rear. Other storage media can be used via AV-IN port, USB interface and SD card interface. The monitors can be removed from their mounts with a click and can be used outside the vehicle too with the 230 V/12 V power supply unit delivered with them. The Rear Seat Entertainment System is delivered with two infrared headsets and radio remote control; it is also available as a single-monitor set. A separately available video cable enables the playback of video and image files from external sources. In the M-Class an individual program makes separate video playback (optional) on the two monitors possible – thanks to a separate DVD player.

Mercedes-Benz has developed a new, comprehensive range of accessories for the M-Class, aimed at meeting the individualisation requirements of even the most discerning customers. All products are specially designed for the new M-Class and manufactured to Mercedes-Benz's usual high quality standards.
Amongst other items, the range of accessories with which customers can add impact to the exterior appearance of their car includes a choice of 12 different light-alloy wheels, snow chain systems, valve caps in sterling silver, bonnet fin attachments and aluminium-finish running boards. To enhance the interior, Mercedes-Benz offers floor mats, a wood/leather steering wheel, illuminated door sill panels, coat hangers or sports pedals in stainless steel, various child restraint systems and various other accessory items.
Electronic highlights include, for example, a rear-seat integration kit for the Apple iPad® , a Rear Seat Entertainment System or an InCar Hotspot to bring the internet into the car. The powerful Becker ® MAP PILOT navigation system, with which the Audio 20 Radio can be transformed into a powerful navigation system with 3D map views, or the new COMAND Online system, with or without DVD changer, are further retrofit options.
The accessories range furthermore includes a range of carrier systems, ski and snowboard racks, bicycle racks and roof boxes, as well as accessories to allow better and more specific use to be made of the load compartment.
A more distinctively sporty exterior becomes possible with individualisation elements from AMG – such as AMG bodystyling elements for the front and rear aprons, side sill panels or AMG light-alloy wheels.
The range is rounded off by products from the Mercedes-Benz Collection, including stylish fashionwear, Samsonite suitcases and holdalls and various practical items such as key rings.
